PHOENIX RISING YOGA THERAPY
INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SESSIONS
Isn't it time you took a moment to listen to yourself? Though at times we look for
outside sources to guide us, somewhere within ourselves we know that we must slow
down, reconnect with ourselves, and listen to our own inner voice. This is the essence
of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT). PRYT operates under the belief that you are
your own best teacher and that everything you need to know is inside of you. It
also operates under the understanding that because your body has been with you through
everything you have ever experienced, it can hold your stressful, challenging or
painful experiences as tension, aches/pains, stress, anxiety, depression or disease.
When you receive a PRYT session, your body is moved and stretched and you are asked
to speak about what you are experiencing. This gives you the opportunity to really
notice what is happening and to increase your awareness and understanding of what
may be behind your tension, aches/pains, stress, anxiety, depression or disease.
It also allows for the release of the physical and emotional tension that can be
associated with these conditions.
Clients have reported the following benefits:
- Clearer focus and sense of perspective
- Greater self-esteem
- Greater body awareness and feeling good in your body
- Physical relief from chronic aches and pains
- Easier and deeper breathing
- Ability to identify and release fear
- A feeling of deep relaxation
- Greater emotional stability
- Enhanced mental clarity

"MAKE THE CONNECTION" THROUGH PHOENIX RISING YOGA THERAPY GROUPS
MAKE THE CONNECTION is a specialized 6 week Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy class for
people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, weight issues, grief or any other
pressing life issue. The premise is that although we often look for outside sources
to guide us, ultimately we are our own best source of guidance. It's a matter of
slowing down, reconnecting with ourselves, and listening to ourselves This group
provides the opportunity to do just that. The group uses yoga, breathing, meditation
and group support as a way to promote physical and emotional strength, flexibility
and balance. It also serves as a way to help you connect and become more fully aware
of whatever life situation you may currently be experiencing and allows for the
release of tension that can so often accompany these challenges. The yoga and meditation
taught in the group are more about what you are experiencing than doing it the "right
way". This is why no previous yoga experience is necessary in order to benefit from
this group. Each week has a specific theme/focus and each week builds on the previous
weeks. Group support is used as a way for each person to speak, if they choose to,
about their experience in order to make it more powerful. No advice is given. Homework
is used as a way to integrate the skills you are learning into your daily Life.
Past participants have reported the following benefits:
- Gaining a clearer focus and sense of perspective about their situation
- Greater body awareness and feeling good about their body
- Relief from physical and mental tension
- Able to effectively use techniques learned in day to day life after the class is
over

Praise for Phoenix Rising Groups:
A disciplined approach to seeking increased awareness of stress/anxiety factors;
wonderful integrated practice of utilizing the wide variety of techniques to be
in "true self" and hence have the upper-hand on "self-managing" my life - which
includes stress/anxiety. "Hats off" to Stephanie..."fabulistic" life facilitator/coach!
Lead by example!
John - Harrisburg
In the beginning I became more aware of the relationship between myself and my body.
As I became more focused through exercise, journaling, breathing and meditation,
I was able to determine the negativity in my Life and with time I was able to "let
go" of these negative feelings. The experience as a whole helped me make choices
to allow a happier, healthier "ME" by giving me back my control over myself.
